Under the guidance of Lino Miele, managed by Andrea Martinez
Andrea Martínez began the practice of Hatha Yoga at 15 years of age and continued with it for several years. It was, however, when she met her teacher, Lino Miele, on her first trip to India in 1998 that her life and her manner of teaching changed completely. Thanks to her experience and knowledge of Hatha Yoga, she immediately committed herself to the study of Ashtanga. Impassioned by his method from that first encounter on, she returned to Kovalam three more seasons to practice with Lino Miele. After each return to Buenos Aires, she worked to spread Ashtanga Yoga in the capital and other provinces of Argentina. At the same time, she attended workshops with Eddie Stern, New York, and Matthew Vollmer, Rio de Janeiro.
In 2008, she organised Lino Miele's first workshop in Buenos Aires and, a year later, she and Lino opened the Ashtanga Yoga School of Buenos Aires, which, since then, she manages.
Currently she continues her apprenticeship with Lino Miele by assisting him at his workshops in South America and at retreats in Ca'Le Suore, Italy, and Kovalam, India.
Between
2008 and 2009 she produced and launched the DVD Lino Miele - Experiencia en Sudamérica, which includes, among other things, Lino Miele teaching Full Vinyasa in South America.
In 2012, the Ashtanga Yoga School Buenos Aires edited El yoga de la respiración the Spanish translation of Lino Miele's book, Yoga of Breath, which consists of the first four series and an interview with the master.
The group of teachers at the school is the fruit of a natural evolution; at present, the team is composed of students who have been practicing with Andrea for many years and continue their instruction with Lino Miele.
Teachers: Camilo Dattoli, Eliana Antar, Paula Siero and Claudio 'Maguila' Ramirez, a teacher from Bariloche, who joined the group after Lino Miele's second visit to Buenos Aires. |
